Welcome
Welcome to Empower Maths. This space is designed for families who value clarity, care, and meaningful progress. We prioritise quality over quantity and place emotional safety at the heart of every pupil experience. We're here to guide your child toward the breakthrough they deserve.

About Me
I'm a fully qualified secondary Maths teacher (PGDE, GTCS-registered) with experience teaching BGE, National 5, and Higher across Scottish secondary schools. This has given me comprehensive knowledge of curriculum content at all levels.
For exam prep, I use my own exam-style resources alongside past papers to show pupils exactly where they are and what needs improving. I work through marking schemes to demonstrate how marks are awarded, transforming exam technique from guesswork into reliable skill.
Mock exams are one of the most effective ways to prepare for National 5 Maths, but only if pupils get proper feedback and targeted support to fix their mistakes. Our mock exam packages give your child realistic exam practice, detailed feedback on every question and clear guidance on exactly what to work on before the real exam.

The Premium Mock Package is designed for pupils who want more than just a score . It offers detailed, expert-led feedback that shows exactly how to improve before the final exam. With personalised video feedback, pupils and parents can both see and hear a clear and detailed explanation of performance, helping them understand strengths, identify areas for development, and see the precise steps needed to close gaps in knowledge and exam technique. Ideal for those who want tailored, detail-oriented support, this package turns a mock exam into a powerful tool for progress, confidence, and stronger results.
What's included:
Personalised video feedback (that provides an extra layer of clarity and support) explaining:
-How marks were awarded
-Where and why marks were lost
-What working is essential to gain full marks
-Common mistakes and how to avoid them
-Which topics should be prioritised for revision
Marked papers returned within 48 hours of submission
Prompt turnaround means pupils can act on feedback quickly while the paper is still fresh in their mind.
A final score giving a realistic indication of current performance and readiness for the exam
A progress summary for parents showing which topics need further work and how to support revision at home
Two National 5 Maths mock papers
-Paper 1: Non-calculator, 1 hour
-Paper 2: Calculator, 1 hour 30 minutes
(We recommend a 30-minute break between papers to reflect exam conditions.)
Book your mock exam package now to give your child time to practice, learn from mistakes and go into the real exam with confidence. (Limited availability, I can only support 6 pupils per week).
£79
(includes video feedback)
Note: Pupils complete both mock papers at home and send their finished scripts for marking.

The Essential Mock Package is our core mock exam package, created to help pupils assess their National 5 Maths exam readiness ahead of the final exam. With detailed written marking of each paper, it clearly shows pupils where marks were gained and where marks were lost, alongside comprehensive written feedback for parents outlining their child’s strengths, areas for development, and the topics that need further attention before the exam. Ideal for pupils seeking a realistic assessment of where they stand, this package clearly identifies remaining gaps, giving pupils and parents the clarity needed to target revision effectively and build confidence before the exam.
What's included:
Written feedback explaining:
-Where the marks were gained
-Where the marks were lost
-How to improve
-The key topics to prioritise for revision
Marked papers returned within 48 hours of submission

The Invigilation add-on is designed for pupils who want a fully realistic exam experience with supervised conditions.
During the mock, pupils must remain seated in front of a switched-on camera to ensure no additional resources are used. Phones and other electronic devices must not be accessible during the session.
Before the exam, pupils should prepare:
A quiet space at home, both papers printed in advance, pencils, eraser, ruler, and calculator (for Paper 2).
During the exam:
Pupils complete both mock papers under timed conditions while remaining on camera. After finishing, they must email their scripts for marking within 10 minutes of the exam ending, staying on camera throughout the submission process.
Pupils may log out only after their work has been received and confirmed.
What's included:
A live Zoom invigilation session (maximum 6 pupils) for the full duration of both papers
-Paper 1: Non-calculator, 1 hour
-Paper 2: Calculator, 1 hour 30 minutes
(A 30-minute break will be given to pupils between papers similarly to real exam conditions.)
Timed supervision throughout the mock to help pupils complete the papers under realistic exam conditions
Clear instructions before the exam begins, including when to start, when to stop, and which materials are allowed
A structured exam environment to support focus, time management, and exam discipline
Extra accountability for pupils who benefit from supervision and a formal mock exam experience
£44
(Essential or Premium packages add-on)
Please note the following invigilation policy:
-Invigilated sessions are run in small groups of up to 6 pupils
-Pupils are expected to behave respectfully and follow instructions throughout the session
-If a pupil’s behaviour is disruptive and affects the running of the mock exam, they may be removed from the call
-No refund will be given if a pupil is removed due to disruptive behaviour
After purchasing, please send me an email (you’ll find it in the footer below) so we can confirm the date and time of the mock exam and when to expect feedback and ensure all details are finalised before we begin.
How do we arrange the day and the time of the mock exam?
Just send us an email after the purchase, and we will agree on suitable day and time for you.
When and how I will receive the mock papers after the purchase?
The mock papers will be sent to you by email within 72 hours of payment confirmation.
Do I need the mock papers printed?
Yes, the mock papers should be printed, and the pupil should write directly on the papers. This makes it clear for the examiner to see which questions have been attempted, which have been left unanswered, where each question begins and ends, and how the pupil has worked through each answer. It also allows for more accurate marking and a more detailed report for parents, clearly explaining which areas need to be targeted and why.
Do both papers need to be completed in one sitting, and are they be done under timed exam conditions at home?
Yes, we recommend completing both papers in one sitting under timed exam conditions to simulate real exam conditions as closely as possible. This helps pupils build stamina, manage their time effectively, and gain a more realistic picture of their exam readiness.
How should pupils submit their completed work?
If you scroll down to the section below, you will find clear step-by-step instructions on how to submit the mock papers for marking.
Can pupils use extra papers?
Of course. If they run out of space to write, they should continue on additional paper. They just need to make sure each extra sheet is clearly labelled with the question number and that a fresh sheet is used for each question that did not fit on the mock paper.
What happens if we buy the invigilation add-on and my child misses the session?
If a pupil does not attend the Zoom invigilation session and we are not notified at least 48 hours in advance, no refund will be issued for the invigilation add-on. The pupil will still be able to submit their completed work for marking and will receive feedback within 48 hours of submission, but the missed session itself will not be refunded.
If at least 48 hours’ notice is provided, we will aim to offer an alternative time slot. If this is not possible, a refund for the invigilation add-on will be issued.
What happens if there is a technical issue during Zoom invigilation session?
As invigilation takes place in a small group (max 6 pupils), the session cannot be paused for one pupil if they lose connection. The rest of the group will continue as scheduled.
If a pupil experiences a brief technical issue, they should rejoin the Zoom session as quickly as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to help them reconnect.
If the issue is caused by a problem on our side or by a wider platform failure, we will offer an alternative invigilation slot or, where this is not possible, a refund for the invigilation add-on.
If the issue is caused by the pupil’s own device, internet connection, or home setup, refunds are not automatic, although an alternative slot may be offered where available.
In all cases, the pupil will still be able to complete the paper independently and submit it for marking and feedback in line with the package purchased.

Olga gave me virtual tutoring lessons throughout my fourth year for National 5 maths, which I initially struggled with. She took me through everything thoroughly and step by step, making sure I understood exactly what I was doing and what the questions were asking of me. We would start with simple practice questions, gradually increasing the complexity to exam style questions at a manageable pace. She was instrumental in me gaining an A in the National 5 exam that year and also the following year at Higher, as I wouldn’t have had the foundation knowledge that I needed without her. I’ll always be grateful for her help.
